How Our Merch is Made

We get such a kick out of making our merchandise. There's just something about creating with a purpose. Or in our case, a porpoise. So, we thought we'd take you through our process step by step. We hope you enjoy it, too.

Messaging
It all starts here. As a copywriter, I like using words to connect with people. It’s especially rewarding when the focus is my favorite subject: kindness to all beings.

Design
Each message receives its own hand-lettered treatment. This is what gives our merch that human touch, and makes every piece unique.

We begin with pencil sketches. Usually, at least two options are considered. Once we choose a favorite—which isn’t always easy—refinements are made and color is added.

The artwork is then finalized and files are prepped for printing.

Printing

We print our shirts in-house using direct-to-film transfers on a state-of-the-art press. This allows us to create each order on demand. The colorful designs really pop on our organic cotton shirts!

For hats, the designs are embroidered onto patches. Then we heat-press the patches onto our snazzy ball caps.

Two women sit on a picnic table smiling at each other. They are wearing black t-shirts. The message on one shirt is: Animals rescued me. The message on the other shirt is: All opposed to cruelty say neigh.

There you have it—the making of Humane Stream merch. Now, when you slip on one of our tees or hats, you’ll know it’s been made with love.
