A Tip of the Hat

A man is tipping an off-white ball cap forward. The cap has the message: Beak the change

As Humane Stream launches, and our paper boat shoves off from shore, I want to acknowledge those who’ve been pivotal in getting us under way.

Aarzoo Adhikari of Aarzoo Design has been a difference maker from the moment we first connected. This multitalented collaborator helped me solidify the vision for Humane Stream. She also set the foundation for our identity materials, and even hand-lettered the messages on our merchandise. Part strategist and part graphic designer, she is, professionally speaking, the total package.

Michelle Fonseca—who happens to be my sister—and her husband, Lu—who happens to be a great friend—have been instrumental in our merchandise development. We jokingly say they’re our “in-house” team because they assist with things like printing and order fulfillment from their home. What a treat it is to work with those who mean so much to me.

With gratitude in mind, there are a few more contributors I’d like to mention. The mourning dove who sings during my pre-jog stretches. The deer I say hello to on walks around the neighborhood. Beings like these remind me daily why Humane Stream exists.

So yes, a tip of the hat to them, too.
